Ear Surgery Portland
Am I a Good Candidate for Ear Surgery?
Patients who are in overall good physical and mental health may be suitable candidates for otoplasty. If you have been struggling with any of the following concerns, ear surgery may be right for you:
- Overly large ears
- Protruding ears
- Dissatisfaction with previous ear surgery
How is Ear Surgery Performed?
The techniques for otoplasty depend on the correction desired and whether it involves reshapping the cartilage, pinning the cartilage back, or setting the entire ear closer to the head. Incisions made for ear surgery are usually invisible because they are made behind the ear. Dr. Chan will create a fold just inside the rim of the ear to help protruding ears. Additionally, for large ears Dr. Chan can reduce enlarged cartilage.
