Rhinoplasty
Before & After
Case Details
This patient, an 18-year-old male, sought rhinoplasty in Portland to address longstanding concerns about both nasal appearance and function. Since childhood, he experienced nasal trauma that led to difficulty breathing through his nose, a dorsal hump, and a drooping nasal tip. He hoped to achieve cosmetic improvements such as increasing tip rotation, reducing the dorsal bump, and straightening the nasal profile. Along with these aesthetic goals, the patient was motivated to improve his breathing and overall nasal airway.
After a detailed consultation, surgery involved functional and cosmetic techniques. The patient underwent rhinoplasty, septoplasty, bilateral turbinate reduction, and nasal valve repair to address an external valve deformity. The recovery period progressed as expected, with gradual resolution of swelling and improvements in airflow. The patient noticed a significant reduction in his breathing difficulties soon after surgery.
The post-procedure photos highlight subtle but meaningful changes to the nose’s contour. The dorsal hump is reduced, the tip is more elevated, and the nasal bridge appears straighter. Together, these changes support both the patient’s functional and aesthetic objectives, helping him feel comfortable with his appearance and breathing.
Dr. James Chan, a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon at Réviance Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center, performed this rhinoplasty in Portland. Dr. Chan combines extensive surgical training with a patient-centered approach, ensuring patients receive attentive care tailored to their unique anatomy and goals.
