How Is Ear Surgery Performed?

The techniques for otoplasty depend on the correction desired and whether it involves reshaping the cartilage, pinning the cartilage back, or setting the entire ear closer to the head. Incisions made for ear surgery are usually invisible because they are made behind the ear. Dr. Chan will create a fold just inside the ear’s rim to help protruding ears. Additionally, for large ears, they can reduce enlarged cartilage.

What Can I Expect After Ear Surgery?

Following your ear surgery, you may have slight discomfort and itchiness under the bandage. It is important to carefully follow all your surgeon’s instructions to ensure proper recovery. Depending on the extent of the surgery, you may need to wear a protective dressing over your ear.

How Much Does Ear Surgery Cost?

The cost for ear surgery depends on the complexity of the repair and can be discussed at your initial consultation with us at Réviance. It is your obligation to speak with your insurance to see if any of the treatment will be covered under your plan.
